Karim Habbab is a former member of the Charlottesville Planning Commission who was appointed by the Charlottesville City Council (2020-2021) in 2021. [1] He resigned publicly at the March 18, 2024 to protest Council's 3-2 vote against a letter of support seeking a ceasefire in Israeli's war on Gaza. [2]
Habbab moved to Charlottesville in 2011 from his hometown of Amman, Jordan, to attend the University of Virginia. Habbab has been working as a Architectural Draftsman for BRW Architects since July 2015.[3]
Habbab received his green card in 2022.[4]
