- 1962 – Election Day: a rainy day at the polls resulted in the re-election of two incumbents to Charlottesville's City Council and approval of $3 million in bonds for water supply expansion. [1] ($3M in 1962 is equivalent in purchasing power to about $29M in 2022, an increase of $26M over 60 years.)
- 2020 – Albemarle County School Board issues statement stating they would re-examine the relationship with the Albemarle County Police Department regarding school resource officers in the wake of anti-racist protests [2]
