Joseph Carrington Cabell

Joseph Carrington Cabell (1778-1856) was a member of the House of Delegates, a close friend of Thomas Jefferson, and an early proponent of the University of Virginia.[1] Cabell assisted Jefferson in funding and chartering the University within the House of Delegates, and, in addition, he served on the original Board of Visitors.[2]
