John W. Werner

John W. Werner was the principal of Western Albemarle High School from July 1, 2013 to early 2015.[1][2] He succeeded David Francis.

Biography

John Werner grew up in Wisconsin and moved to Fairfax, Virginia in his senior year of high school.


Before being hired by Albemarle County Public Schools, Werner taught social studies for 7 years at Herndon High School. He served as Herndon's assistant principal for 3 years before becoming principal at Clarke County High School in Berryville and then at Osbourne High School in Manassas City.[3]


Werner received three advanced degrees from George Mason University: a B.A. in history, an M.A. in curriculum and instruction, and an M.A. in Licensure and Educational Administration and K-12 Leadership. He also received a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University.[1] Werner also earned a doctorate in education from Nova Southeastern University.[3]
