Projects
Moores Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant Nutrient Removal Improvements Project
- Hazen and Sawyer was the design engineering firm hired by the Rivanna Water and Sewer Authority to design improvements to reduce the amount of nitrogen and phosphorous released into the watershed.[2]
Rivanna Pump Station Project
- In 2010-2011, Hazen and Sawyer designed preliminary concepts for an upgarde to the Rivanna sewer pump station. The current pump station is in [Riverside Park]] in the Woolen Mills neighborhood.
EPA Stage 2 Disinfectants/Disinfection Byproducts Project
- Hazen and Sawyer were the consulting firm for the Rivanna Water and Sewer Authority when they were deciding how to best meet the EPA's new disinfection byproduct regulations. [3] They recommended the use of chloramines partially because of its low cost. [3]
Regional projects
In 2010, the firm provided the engineering and design work for a $27.7 million upgrade of the Culpeper Wastewater Treatment Plant[4].
