Denise Lunsford served as Albemarle County Commonwealth's Attorney from 2008 to 2015. She won election to the position in 2007, defeating Jim Camblos. However, she lost in a narrow vote to Republican Robert N. Tracci. [1]

Biography

Lunsford is a native of Cleveland, Tennessee. After graduating from Washington and Lee University's Law School, Lunsford moved to Charlottesville where she began work for Michie, Hamlett, Lowry, Rassmussen and Tweel. She also taught as an adjunct professor at University of Virginia Law School[2].

Public service

Lunsford has served on the boards of the Monticello Area Community Action Agency (MACCA), AIDS/HIV Services Group, Augusta County SPCA and On Our Own.
