- 1808 – Nicholas Lewis dies on this day. The husband of Mary Walker and owner of his grandfather Nicholas Meriwether's Charlottesville estate "The Farm," Lewis was a close friend of Thomas Jefferson and signed the Albemarle County Declaration of Independence.
- 2013 – Richard "Dick" Hamilton Barrick - former Charlottesville Commonwealth's Attorney (aged 83) [3]
