Daniel Bluestone

Daniel Bluestone is a former Professor of Architectural History and the former Director of the Historic Preservation Program at the UVA School of Architecture. He received a BA from Harvard College in 1975, and a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago in 1984. [1] He left Charlottesville to work for Boston University. [2]

Activity in Charlottesville
Bluestone was the co-leader of the winning design team in the Belmont Bridge Design Competition. [3]
Bluestone was also an ardent opponent of the Meadowcreek Parkway and was a member of the Coalition to Preserve McIntire Park.
In late 2007, Bluestone sought to prevent the demolition of the Compton House on Maury Avenue. When that failed, he called the demolition an act of vandalism. [4]
