Dan Eggleston served as the chief of the Albemarle County Department of Fire and Rescue between since 2002 and October 2025. [1]
Biography
Eggleston was born in Richmond, Virginia and grew up in Chesterfield County. He is a resident of Crozet.[2]

- December 13, 2023 – Fire Chief Dan Eggleston tells Supervisors that the county had hired 69 additional full-time personnel since FY20, fulfilling a need created by a decline in volunteerism. [3]
