Cynthia L. "Cindi" Burket was the Republican candiate in the Scottsville District special election for the Albemarle Board of Supervisors in the 2013 special election.[1] She lost to her opponent, Jane Dittmar on November 5, 2013. [2]
Political Background
Burket served as chair of the Albemarle County Republican Committee until she chose to run for supervisor.[3] She was president of the Albemarle-Charlottesville Republican Women's League in 2008.[4]
In 2011, Burket ran unsuccessfully for the At-Large seat on the Albemarle County School Board against Ned Gallaway.[4]
2013 election
In 2013, Burket was one of ten candidates for appointment as interim Scottsville District Representative on the Albemarle Board of Supervisors following the June 2013 resignation of Christopher Dumler.[5] William "Petie" Craddock was ultimately appointed to the seat.[6] [7]

Education
Burket earned a B.S. in Law Enforcement and Correction from Penn State University and a M.A. in Public Administration with a concentration in Criminal Justice from George Mason University in 1974 and 1981, respectively.[9]
2013 election
Burket faced Jane Dittmar in the special election on November 5, 2013. [citation needed] She has raised $7,070 in campaign funds through August 21, 2013. [10]
