County Student Advisory Council

The County Student Advisory Council is a student-led leadership group made up of high school students from each of Albemarle County's high schools. The CSAC serves in an advisory capacity to the Albemarle County School Board and represents the student perspective on division-wide issues. Jennifer Sublette, Albemarle's Lead Coach and Facilitator of Social Studies K-12, is the group's faculty sponsor.

History

The CSAC has been meeting off an on for 10 years. In 2011, the group drafted a constitution and bylaws[1].

On May 23, 2013, the Albemarle County School Board agreed to allow a non-voting student seat on the Board. Students from the CSAC will rotate through the seat[2].
