College and Workforce Readiness Assessment

The College and Workforce Readiness Assessment is a task-based method of assessing student learning at the high school level. CWRA was developed by the Council for Aid to Education. Albemarle County Public Schools began piloting the test in the spring of 2012.

Use in Albemarle
Albemarle County Public Schools has been expanding its CWRA pilot program in recent years. Approximately 330 seniors will take the test in the fall of 2013[1].
Results
On the Spring 2013 test, Albemarle’s mean score was 1074 out of a possible score of 1500. The mean score of college freshmen was 1050. Prior to sitting the CWRA, students took an academic pre-test, which predicted a mean score of 1146 for Albemarle students[2].
