Singing for Healing, Comfort, and Peace

The Charlottesville Threshold Choir is a group who follow an ancient tradition of singing at the bedsides of those who are ill or dying, for their caregivers, for those who are grieving, and for others in need of musical healing. The group sings, without charge, in hospices, hospitals, nursing homes, and private homes.

Upon invitation, the singers visit a person in need, usually with between six and ten voices. Their repertoire of rounds, chants, lullabies and other comforting music may be varied according to the person’s situation and wishes. The music embraces the traditions of many religious faiths, love of others, and life itself.

Rehearsals are held on Wednesday nights and new singers are welcome. For Charlottesville information, call Judy at 434/977-6614 or e-mail
