Political activity

CAAR publicly endorses candidates for local office, and directs resultant contributions from the Realtors Political Action Committee of Virginia to their campaigns.

2009 endorsements

In 2009 CAAR endorsed Rodney Thomas (R) for the Rio seat on the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors, and Duane Snow for the Samuel Miller District seat. In Charlottesville, CAAR endorsed Dave Norris (D) and Kristin Szakos (D) for the Charlottesville City Council[1][2].

Real Estate Weekly

For many years, CAAR published the Real Estate Weekly. In 2010 the Real Estate Weekly moved into shared office space with C-Ville Weekly. According to an email announcement, CAAR did not sell the publication to C-Ville, but consolidated offices to "allow the CAAR Real Estate Weekly to reduce staff and overhead."[3]
