Chapman Johnson

Chapman Johnson (1777-1849) was a prominent, early American politician, a close friend of Thomas Jefferson, and an early proponent of the University of Virginia. Johnson served on the University's Board of Visitors from 1819 to 1845, making him one of the Board's longest serving members in history.[1]
