Major vs. secondary

Taken from the old "Major roads in Charlottesville" category:

Is there a technical definition? Or is it just smell test. Rio road is in the "secondary" cat. There should be some distinction made. B.S. Lawrence 20:42, 14 June 2009 (EDT)

Roads numbered below 600 are primary roads (22, 151, 6, 20, 29, 240, 250). Everything else is Secondary Road. Bwheeler 13:21, 15 June 2009 (EDT)

I have gone further and changed the name to reflect the answer above, as well as to remove the "charlottesville" tag, which didn't apply. -- B.S. Lawrence 22:07, 27 January 2010 (UTC)
