Castalia (house)

A larger rambling Queen Anne pile, erected by the Boocock family of Richmond in the 1890s, during the greatest era of country-house building in the Southwest Mountains Historic District, was eventually judged as too large and expensive to maintain. This house was demolished in 1988 to make way for a smaller residence on the same site.
