Blue Ridge Numerics is a software developer in Albemarle County that was purchased in February 2011 by California-based Autodesk.[1] The company was founded by Rita Schnipke and Ed Williams in 1992 and specializes in simulations of fluid dynamics, such as how smoke will move in a particular environment.
