The Bent Creek Parkway is a planned road that will connect Fifth Street with Avon Street.

The road was proffered by the developers of the Fifth and Avon Center as part of a rezoning. The Albemarle County Board of Supervisors agreed to rezone the land to accommodate the new retail development, but will not grant occupancy until the road is completed.

Alternate ideas

At the October 2011 meeting of the MPO Policy Board, Albemarle resident Lawrence Jacksina suggested that plans for the Bent Creek Parkway be amended to provide one-way access to Interstate 64. The idea did not go anywhere.
