In 1948, the Atlantic Seaboard Corporation was planning to build a 20-inch natural gas pipeline from Cobbs, West Virginia to Rockville, Maryland. Officials met in closed session with City Council on March 18, 2016 to discuss a connection to the city. City officials had had no luck securing a connection to the fuel. [1]
