- 2008 – Under a brilliant blue sky, members of the University of Virginia community gathered in McIntire Amphitheater on the first anniversary of the Virginia Tech shootings to commemorate the lives of those who died on April 16, 2007.[1]
- 2010 – A replacement Advance Mills Bridge opens to traffic, opening a north-south roadway for the first time in three years [2]
