History
The structure that currently houses Mel's Cafe was built in 1962 as a dry cleaner called 1 Hour Martinizing. The developer was Charles Hurt on behalf of .
Before that, the property was home to Crutchfield's Colonial House, a two-storey furniture store that burned in 1960.
It has also been the Duck Inn.
The one-story building has been rented to Mel's Cafe since 1995. [1]
