501 Cherry Avenue is the project name for a development on Cherry Avenue in Charlottesville being developed by Woodard Properties at that address. City Council approved a rezoning for the project in September 2023.

Development history

Woodard Properties purchased the property for $3.5 million in August 2022. [1]

The architect is BRW Architects. [2]

May 2024 update

The Fifeville Neighborhood Association got an update on the development at their meeting on May 9, 2024. Several changes to the design of buildings were communicated such as a shift to ground floor parking for both. Building A has been moved further back from Cherry Avenue. The grocery store space will be in Building A rather than Building B. The Music Resource Center is still expected to be part of the development, but Twice Is Nice is no longer involved. There will be 71 apartments and all will be income-restricted. [2]
