Deaths

• February 12 – Anna Anderson Manahan dies of pneumonia at Martha Jefferson Hospital. Generally believed to have in actuality been a displaced Polish factory worker named Franziska Schanzkowska, Manahan claimed her true identity to be that of Grand Duchess Anastasia Romanov of Russia throughout her time in Charlottesville.
