Deaths

• October 4 – Charles Everett dies at his Belmont plantation and is later buried at the Grace Episcopal Church Cemetery. A physician for three American presidents (Thomas Jefferson, James Monroe, and James Madison), Everett served twice in the Virginia House of Delegates and was the namesake of "Everettsville," an area formerly part of the Shadwell tract.
