Pauline Hovey

Pauline O. Hovey is a freelance writer and editor with 30 years of experience working for private corporations, trade associations, nonprofit organizations, and government contractors. Since venturing into freelancing, she has written feature and business articles for magazines, newspapers, publishers, and trade association publications. Her editorial experience includes substantive editing of manuals, reports, and other publications for clients working in developing countries to promote advancements in health, education, and the overall quality of life. Biography

Prior to starting her own writing and editing business in 1991, Ms. Hovey worked as a full-time editor for a management information systems firm in Alexandria, Virginia. In 2000, she moved to beautiful, rural Greene County, gateway to the Blue Ridge Mountains and Shenandoah National Park, where she continues to provide writing and editorial services for various clients.

Ms. Hovey grew up along the southeastern coast of Massachusetts and received a B.A. in English from Southeastern Massachusetts University (now UMass Dartmouth). She later completed classes and workshops in substantive editing, copyediting, and creative nonfiction and fiction.

Since moving to Greene County, Ms. Hovey has been involved in the community, volunteering in various capacities. In 2006, she cofounded the Greene Education Foundation, a 501(c)3 dedicated to supporting quality public education throughout the county’s school system. She has one son who attends Greene County schools.
