The Municipality Facility Committee was a citizens group that was convened in 1960 to recommend a location for a new city hall and courthouse. It had its first meeting on January 4, 1960 at Buddy's Restaurant. [1]

Background
The committee was created by City Council after a vote on November 3, 1959. There were 41 members of the committee and Buddy Glover served as its chair. Lindsay B. Mount, managing editor of the Daily Progress, was named secretary.
