Fred Missel

Fred Missel is the Director of Design and Development for the University of Virginia Foundation. [1] He is in charge of the management of properties being developed by the Foundation, including the University of Virginia Research Park, the Fontaine Research Park and the Boar's Head Inn.

Missel is also the chair of the Albemarle County Planning Commission, having been elected to that position in early 2024. [2] The Board of Supervisors appointed him in January 2022 to represent the Scottsville Magisterial District. [3]

Biography

Missel is a former member and chairman of the Albemarle County Architectural Review Board. He resigned that position in the summer of 2017 and was reappointed in subsequent years. He rejoined the ARB but stepped down after being appointed to the Planning Commission.

Missel previously worked for the Cox Company. [4]
