Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy

The Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy is a school at the University of Virginia that began operations in 2007. [1] The school is the first new school to be established at UVA since the Darden Graduate School of Business Administation was created in 1955. [2]


Background

The school was eatablished due to a grant from the late Frank S. Batten, the former CEO of Landmark Communications. [2]

The school's motto is, "Policy is everywhere. Lead from anywhere."[3]

Community involvement

One course taught by Christine Mahoney in the school helps research grant opportunities for non-profits in Charlottesville and Albemarle County. [4]
