Charlottesville City & Suburban Railway Company
The Charlottesville City & Suburban Railway Company began operating the first electric streetcar in 1895. . The company collected 2,000 fares in its first two days of operation. The company merged with the Charlottesville and University Street Railway Company in 1896. The combined served was renamed the Charlottesville and Albemarle Railway in 1903. The service stopped operated until 1935.
