Charlottesville City & Suburban Railway Company

The Charlottesville City & Suburban Railway Company began operating the first electric streetcar in 1895. [1]. The company collected 2,000 fares in its first two days of operation[2]. The company merged with the Charlottesville and University Street Railway Company in 1896. The combined served was renamed the Charlottesville and Albemarle Railway in 1903. [3]The service stopped operated until 1935. [4]
