This page is an overview of the 2018 local elections held on November 6, 2018. In late March, election officials in Albemarle County reported an uptick in voter registration. [1]

Local elections

On November 6, 2018, there was a special election for the Charlottesville School Board to replace the vacancy left when Adam Hastings stepped down on March 3, 2018. [2]

Bond referendum

In April, it was thought there also could be a bond referendum on the ballot to raise additional capital funds for Albemarle County Public Schools and their High School 2022 program. [3]

State elections

There were two state constitutional amendments on the ballot.

Federal elections

On November 6th, Virginians re-elected their Class 1 senator Tim Kaine, who will serve from 2019 until 2025. He was challenged by Republican Corey Stewart and Libertarian Matt Waters. The Commonwealth's Green and Constitution parties did not run candidates.
