2014 Charlottesville budget

The Charlottesville City Council will adopted a budget for FY2014 in early April 2013.

Meals tax?

Councilor Kristin Szakos has advocated a meals tax to raise part of a $1.8 million committement they have made to the school system. The idea will be considered, even though Councilors Dave Norris, Dede Smith, and Satyendra Huja are opposed to the idea. [1]

Small capital improvement budget

City budget staff are proposing a $11.2 million capital improvement program budget for FY2014, down from the $17.2 million adopted for FY2013. [2]
