Candidate or former candidate?

One of the templates is assigning the category of Candidate for Charlottesville School Board though that it is no longer accurate. Can we somehow switch that to "Former candidate" somehow? --Seantubbs 10:22, 3 January 2012 (EST)

DISAGREE This is working as designed; no fix is required. Click through to the category and you will see that this is all candidates, regardless of time or status. This conforms with how wikipedia does it, and I don't think there's a good reason for cville to buck the real thing. The 'current'/'former' distinction doesn't add much value and becomes a maintenance headache. See e.g., wikipedia:Category:United_States_presidential_candidates (for candidates) and wikipedia:Category:United_States_Supreme_Court_justices (for positions.) I'd fix all that myself but haven't had the motivation to go through all hundreds of the pages, yet. It's on my list. -- B.S. Lawrence 10:35, 4 January 2012 (EST)
Thanks for the explanation. Please remember that most of us aren't editors on wikipedia and are still learning this platform. --Seantubbs 12:39, 4 January 2012 (EST)
