Merge w/ Burley Middle School

County v. city school

It's kind of unclear, but it seems like back in the day it was a joint city-county school, not just a county one. For instance, with desegregation, students were transferred to Lane, a city school. There's kind of conflicting info out there, with http://www.aaheritageva.org/search/sites.php?site_id=596 saying the city school board controlled it and http://www.burleyvarsityclub.com/ saying that it was the county that decided to combine the 3 black schools Burley came out of. --Kwalters 10:52, 29 Novemeber 2011 (EDT)
