Nicola McGoff is the program coordinator of the Rivanna River Basin Commission[citation needed].

Biography

McGoff began working with the Rivanna River Basin Commission (RRBC) as Program Coordinator in July 2010. She came to this position with a wealth of wetland and riparian research experience. She graduated from the University of Virginia with her Masters in Environmental Sciences in 2004 having studied the role of herbivory and nutrient dynamics in salt marsh ecosystems on Virginia’s Eastern Shore.

Since graduating she has gained experience in academic research covering a broad array of topics including phosphorous and sediment processes in southern US rivers, and soil carbon stocks and changes due to climate change in Ireland. She has worked for The Nature Conservancy in Virginia as a stream restoration assistant for the Virginia Aquatic Resources Trust Fund.

McGoff is was appointed as an Associate Director for the Thomas Jefferson Soil and Water Conservation District in 2016. McGoff is the owner and primary project manager for Wild Ginger Field Services, an environmental consulting company established in 2011. As a professional wetland scientist, she has a diverse background in wetland and riparian science and ecology. She is also a certified urban nutrient management planner, a licensed pesticide applicator, a native plant enthusiast, and a beekeeper. [1]
