History

The city and the McGuffey Arts Association entered into a lease in 1975 wherein the school would become home to nearly 150 artists and the association would provide community outreach.

In March 2003, City Councilor Kevin Lynch proposed raising the fees paid by artists in the center. [1]

In June 2014, the city opted to enter into an additional two-year lease with the proviso that the association would better define its mission. Annual rent is $24,564. [2]

Leadership

Giselle Gautreau is the president.
