M. Rick Turner

M. Rick Turner served as president of the NAACP Albemarle-Charlottesville Branch since 2004 and resigned on December 31, 2016. He was succeeded by vice president Janette Boyd-Martin. [1]

Biography

Turner became the Dean of the University of Virginia Office of African-American Affairs in 1988 and served in that position until 2006. [2]

Turner held the position as NAACP president for 12 years. He had been challenged for the position by Karen Waters-Wicks in November and won. [1]
