Jarmans Gap

Jarman Gap is a mountain pass in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Located in the counties of Albemarle and Augusta, Virginia - approximately 6.7 miles (10.8 km) northeast of Waynesboro, Virginia and 16.7 miles (26.9 km) west-northwest of Charlottesville, Virginia at an elevation of 2,172 feet.)

Jarmans Gap is located in Crozet, Virginia where the Jarmans Gap Road improvements took place. Originally called Wood's Gap after the early Albemarle County inhabitant Michael Woods Sr., the gap was an important passageway through the Blue Ridge Mountains. The Three Notch'd Road traveled through the gap. [1]

It is named after Thomas Jarman, a grandson of the famous early Albemarle inhabitant William Jarman.
