In his interview on WINA, Barnett said he ran because there was no opposition. A Baptist, he said he was opposed to allowing restaurants to sell liquor by the drink. He also said he was not in favor of extending Grady Avenue to Emmett Street. He also said he was in favor of fluoridation of the city's water supply.
