The Ivy Creek Foundation is a non-profit organization based in Charlottesville that preserves and manages the Ivy Creek Natural Area and the Ragged Mountain Natural Area for community education and appreciation.

Karen Joyner is the current executive director. Bruce Gatling-Austin is the education coordinator.

History

After receiving a large monetary donation the Nature Conservancy created the Rann Preserve in the fall of 1975. With further help from the Nature Conservancy and a state grant, the deed was transferred to the city and the county in the fall of 1978, and the Ivy Creek Natural Area was born. The foundation was created a few months later in early 1979[1].

The foundation's mission is enriching lives by fostering environmental awareness through education and connecting the community with nature.
