Senator Robert Creigh Deeds is a Democratic party member representing the former 25th Senate district, which includes Charlottesville and Albemarle, in the Virginia General Assembly.

Deeds won election to the new 11th Senate District in the 2023 election. [1]

2023 Election

Deeds announced his campaign to run for the new Senate District 11 on September 19, 2022. [2] [3] He faced Philip Hamilton in the general election and took about two-thirds of the vote. [1]

2019 Election

Deeds faced Republican Elliott Harding in the general election. He won with 67.5 percent of the vote. [4]

2015 Election

Deeds did not have an opponent in the general election. [4]

2011 Election

Deeds faced Republican Thomas Winder Aldous, Jr. in the general election. He won with 64.4 percent of the vote. [4]

2009 Election race for Governor

Creigh Deeds won the Democratic primary in the nominating contest for Governor of Virginia in 2009. The statewide primary was held on June 9, 2009 and Deeds defeated former Delegate Brian Moran (Alexandria) and former Democratic National Committee Chairman Terry McAuliffe.

Deeds lost the general election for Governor.
