Hiding categories

I'd love to use this cat, but keep it hidden. It's not working?!? Why can't we hide categories like on wikipedia? Looking at the hiddencat template it seems like all it needs is the magic word? I'd hate to get rid of this. Is it OK if it's not hidden? What's going on? B.S. Lawrence 19:38, 3 July 2009 (EDT)

I'll experiment with this today and keep you posted. --Bwheeler 10:44, 4 July 2009 (EDT)
Appears this magic word requires a more recent version of MediaWiki (1.13+). See http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Magic_words
Perhaps I'll upgrade the server tonight.--Bwheeler 10:51, 4 July 2009 (EDT)
OK, in the meantime I'm removing the magic word. I'll try to populate this more. Now I'm not so sure it even needs to be hidden. -- B.S. Lawrence 21:49, 6 July 2009 (EDT)
Might test this further now that we have upgraded mediawiki --Bwheeler 02:36, 27 September 2009 (UTC)

Relation with template

This category is automatically assigned by using the Template:OnWikipedia or Template:Wikipedia link templates. New subcategories here would be cool, esp. if they can be done automatically through those templates. Ideas? -- B.S. Lawrence 20:59, 22 September 2009 (EDT)

=="ideal" article==

The change I just made about the "ideal article in this category" rings true to me, but it's a fairly bold thing to say. I hope it makes sense, but I suspect it could be clarified somewhat. -- B.S. Lawrence 21:22, 22 September 2009 (EDT)
