R. Steven "Steve" Landes

Steve Landes (born November 15, 1959) is an American politician. He served in the Virginia House of Delegates from 1996 to 2019 representing the 25th district in the Virginia General Assembly. Landes' constituencies include parts of Albemarle County, Augusta County, and Rockingham County. [1]. He is a member of the Republican Party.[2]

Landes did not seek a 13th term in 2019 and instead ran for the Clerk of Court in Augusta County. [3]

Legislative service

Landes served as vice chairman of the House Education Committee and was the the first non-attorney to serve as Chairman and member of the Virginia Code Commission. [4]

Landes was a legislative assistant to Delegate Pete Giesen from 1988 to 1992 and district director and representative for U. S. Representative Bob Goodlatte 1993–1995.[5]

Landes was recognized as Legislator of the Year in 2016 by the Virginia Chamber of Commerce. [6]

Landes participated in a candidate forum on August 12, 2009. [4]
